Root Canal (Endodontics)
A root canal, or endodontic treatment, is one of the most misunderstood dental procedures performed. Most people are under the impression that it is very painful when, in fact, for most people the process is like having a filling replaced. During a root canal, the inner lining, particularly the pulp tissue or "nerve," is treated. Most often, a root canal is needed when a tooth has very deep decay, is broken or fractured, or has undergone trauma. After a root canal is completed, it is usually necessary to place a crown on the tooth to preserve the tooth. Our office uses the most current technologies for this procedure including the use of a Zeiss Endodontic Microscope For Root Canal Therapy and the Sirolaser Laser.

Diagnodent Decay Detection
impression, restore your fillings, crowns and veneers, strong ceramic material, natural tooth color Diagnodent allows the dentist to look inside the grooves of the tooth. The traditional way to check for cavities was by looking for visual signs of decay on the tooth, checking x-rays, or feeling for a soft area with a dental hook. Diagnodent is a laser technology that scans your teeth with harmless pulses of light. When a cavity is present, fluorescent light of a different wavelength bounces back to the sensor, which is translated to a digital read-out. In general, the higher the number, the greater the amount of decay in the tooth. When a cavity is present, the Diagnodent also produces an audible signal.

Visilite Oral Cancer Screening
Early detection is the key to reducing the devastating impact of oral cancer on victims and their families. Annual oral cancer screening of patients at increased risk for oral cancer, patients age 18 and older, and tobacco users of any age is the only way to achieve the early detection of oral cancer necessary to reduce the death rate of oral cancer – a death rate that has remained unchanged for more than 40 years!
