Sedation dentistry uses medication to help patients relax during dental procedures. Unlike general anesthesia where
the patient is unconscious, by using oral sedatives the patient is in a state of "near sleep" during the procedure,
and is able to breathe on his own, as well as speak and respond to others. It is a great solution for patients who
have a low threshold for pain, or need a large amount of dental work done in a short period of time. It can also be
effective for patients who have sensitive teeth or gums or can't sit still in the dentist's chair.
